New Rules: Know the New Refrigerant Regulations

The folks in Sacramento have been very busy, and that means new rules that commercial property owners need to familiarize themselves with, before getting fined, frustrated or frozen out.
Here’s the upshot:
California is discontinuing the use of current commercial refrigerants, with two other chemical mixtures now mandated for all new air conditioning equipment sold in the state. Unfortunately, flammability issues come along with these new products. Preventing them requires safeguards in place for your home or building. Furthermore, older equipment that runs on the outdated coolant will be available for a while. In certain circumstances, upgrading may not yet make sense for you.
The information out there in the news about this stuff is often spotty or just plain wrong, so we wrote this white paper to clarify exactly what has changed. If you are thinking about replacing your HVAC or even doing a repair, you should take a look.
