2018 Pasadena Design Showcase – Altadena

A grand Mediterranean estate designed by noted architect Reginald Johnson and built in 1915 was selected as the 2018 Pasadena Showcase House. Named “The Overlook” for its view to the ocean, this home was built for two widowed sisters in Altadena. This prestige project located on East Altadena Drive in Altadena, California involved dozens of high-end specialty California contractors renovating an 11,000 square foot private residence for a showcase demonstration for 40,000 viewers. Included installation of 9 variable speed split systems with zoning tied into a central home control system for the property. Design included sound-absorbing ductwork, custom manufactured registers and grills, and a dedicated cooling system for the server room for media, computing and other electronic equipment in the residence.
