Supporting “Chalkdemic” to celebrate the Arts in Monrovia

In August 2020, the Monrovia Association of Fine Arts held a “Chalkdemic” event to showcase artistic creativity during the pandemic.

Air-Tro was proud to support this fun-filled event where children and families participated in #chalkingthetimeaway. You can see some of the amazing work that was created on their Facebook page.

MAFA was established more than 50 years ago and works to enhance the lives of those within our community through interaction with the arts. Additionally, they aim to increase the opportunities for our children through art education.

Their all-volunteer group provides opportunities for artists, student artists, kids and families, and local merchants to create, exhibit, and support the arts. They continue to innovate to meet the needs of the Monrovia community and region.

Artists who join MAFA have the opportunity to exhibit their work at the annual Celebrate the Arts Show & ChalkFest, a Monrovia tradition and one of the largest events of its kind in Southern California. MAFA artists also teach workshops for local students and serve as mentors. Membership is open to artists and non-artists alike, and they need non-artists with organizational skills to help continue their growth. For more information and to join MAFA visit their website at http://www.monroviafinearts.org.
