Bauer Estate & Gardens – The 2025 Pasadena Showcase House

Featuring more than 15,000 square feet and set on five acres of peace and seclusion, Bauer Estate & Gardens was one of the largest Showcase Houses ever presented. The 2025 Pasadena Showcase House required commercial-grade equipment, including two Samsung 3-phase 10 ton water chillers and 10 MagicAire air handlers. Heat was provided by a Raypak 750,000 BTU gas-fired boiler. All ductwork was removed and replaced by Air-Tro with new R8 insulated flex pressure-tested to ensure leak rates below 3%.

Acclaimed as the finest creation of famous architect Reginald D. Johnson, this majestic 1928 Monterey colonial estate was built by Peter Hall of Gamble House fame for Harry Bauer (CEO of Southern California Edison) and his wife Alice (Board Chair of the Los Angeles County Arboretum). Prominently featured in books, magazines, film, and television, Bauer Estate & Gardens is unparalleled in its heritage and grandeur. Nearly 100 years after being built, it debuted as the 60th Pasadena Showcase House of Design, highlighting the latest lifestyle trends by 30 talented interior and landscape designers.
